LeeAnn's Hybridizer Notes - CT™ Dolce

Growing for cut flower production: Pinching the terminal bud in the spring is a must for this robust, leafy plant. In true indulgent fashion, the more you harvest the more CT Dolce will provide. While her first flush of blooms tends to be clock-facing, bloom position improves throughout the season, settling into an ideal 45-degree angle.

Leaves strip easily and cleanly for efficient harvesting and processing in the field. Harvest 16+ inch stems just above the 3rd leaf node. Protecting the 3rd leaf node branches will ensure weekly blooms all season long, as new lateral branches should already be forming.

Owing to this plant’s dense foliage supporting her lavish lifestyle, I recommend planting CT Dolce at 16+ inches to maintain airflow and avoid overcrowding. She will be glad to reward you abundantly for the extra space.

Growing as a garden plant: Pinching the terminal growth at 4-6 weeks will encourage more branching and flowering. Supporting the plant will keep your plant and blooms looking fantastic all season long, even through rain and wind. If the plant will not be cut from weekly, allow for a 20-inch planting distance between plants to ensure adequate airflow. These petal dense blooms may need deadheading if they get saturated with water. CT Dolce grows exceptionally well in full sun.
