There's a joy in discovering something special and completely new to the world that as a hybridizer I find simply unparalleled. I want to share in this joy with you! Growing dahlias from seed is ALWAYS my highlight of the season and it's my honor to share a piece of my hybridizing program directly with you.
Our seeds has been collected from our own fields. Our seed parents have been planted with intention, with the best possible genetics intermingled among the most beautiful dahlias. Now, I cannot wait to see the next generation of dahlias growing in your garden.
Happy Planting,
LeeAnn | Coseytown Flowers
Seed in our CT™ Collarette Dahlia Seed Mix was collected from collarette form dahlias open pollinated amongst other collarettes – including Rhubarb & Custard and Orange Hype – as well as many Coseytown® Collarette seedlings that exhibit a floriferous blooming habit, strong stems, upright growth habit and other strong plant and tuber traits that Coseytown® dahlias are known for. You can expect a wide array of colors and color patterning, with lots of bicolored parentage. While growing from seed is an adventure and results cannot be predicted or guaranteed, this intentional curation of genetics aims to improve the fun, flirty collarette forms we love with the plant and tuber qualities we value so we can enjoy them equally in the garden and vase!
This product listing is for one packet of Coseytown® Premium Dahlia Seed - CT™ Collarette Mix containing 25 seeds (quantity 1 = one packet). All seeds were harvested from our own dahlia fields.
Dahlia seedlings bloom and make tubers in one growing season. You are experiencing a treasure to be explored in your garden when you grow dahlias from seed. Dahlia seeds DO NOT grow true to the parent variety and there are endless possibilities when growing dahlias from seed. Each seed is a surprise!
Please note that while we select only the finest seeds for sale in each mix, dahlia germination rates are variable and germination rates for our mixes have not been determined in the lab. Following best practices will aid your success when growing dahlias from seed. See our free 'Growing Dahlias From Seed' guide for more information (website only).
