Coseytown Penny
If this one had an online dating profile, it would say something like this: Tall, original, colorful lady who can weather a storm easily (...and she has really long legs, haha! View the product video for more details). Meet Coseytown Penny!
The name Penny is a nod to her seed parent Ferncliff Copper. She inherited all the best plant and tuber qualities and then some. This plant can grow up to 7 feet tall. No, that is not a typo. This is the strongest plant in my field. She withstood the remnants of a hurricane without breaking a stem - even though she was planted of the end row breaking the winds! Make sure you pinch out the terminal bud in the spring and you'll be rewarded with super long, strong, slender stems.
I asked 10 different people to describe Penny's coloring and gotten 10 different responses. She's different. My best color description would be a warm amber overlayed with raspberry. In the fall it slightly changes. It's like it has a bronze filter and looks more toward brown. Clear, right? You grow her and let me know what you think!
