Coseytown™ First Bloom
$34.95
Meet a dahlia that will always hold a special place in my heart. While we've always called her Coseytown First Bloom, you can also call this one ‘The OC’ (original Coseytown). The dahlia experience that caught me hook, line, and sinker. Coseytown First Bloom is my first dahlia that ever bloomed from seed.
LeeAnn's Hybridizer Notes
CT™ First Bloom produces mostly top-facing blooms and looks amazing wrapped in a bunch. We have successfully grown CT First Bloom all season long with no staking or plant supports used or required. While it starts out the season as a shorter and airier plant, pinching the first terminal bud in the spring will encourage the plant to grow an abundance of dark stems. This plant is reliably blooming by the 3rd to 4th week of July, having been planted out as tubers in mid-May here in south central PA. By mid-August, Coseytown First Bloom is really hitting its stride and pushing out long, strong stems with full blooms. 18-to-20-inch stems are common.
