Coseytown® Cut Flower Dahlias
We're Here for the Workhorses

The heartbeat of Coseytown Flowers is firmly rooted in developing the best possible dahlia cultivars for profitable cut flower production. Our cut flower breeding program has been shaped by our own experiences and frustrations as a cut flower farm in search of the best dahlia varieties to bring maximum impact to our operation and bottom line... and our enjoyment as dahlia enthusiasts too!

Every Coseytown dahlia candidate begins its journey in our fields - and must earn its stripes over many seasons to keep its place there. To earn the distinction 'Coseytown Cut Flower Dahlia' each new cultivar must demonstrate its ability to consistently meet or exceed expectations for the following nine key Coseytown traits for maximum utility, productivity and profitability for cut flower production:

  Vase Life
Stem Length
Stem Strength
Bloom Productivity
Blossom Orientation
Blossom Attachment
Plant Growth Habit

Your purchase of Coseytown dahlia tubers is a smart investment that rewards you for years to come! Dahlia tubers grow plants which are true to variety, produce saleable blooms and grow additional root tubers in one season. Mature tubers can be stored and replanted the next growing season, or left in the ground and overwintered in appropriately warm growing climates. Either way, prepare to enjoy these incredible flowers for years to come!

More Info:

  • Dahlia tuber orders are shipped for spring-time planting in your area. See our shipping page for more details.

  • Listings for named dahlia cultivars are for single division root tubers. Unless otherwise noted, quantity 1 = one tuber.

  • Our farm exclusively grows and sells Coseytown cultivars in order to make them more accessible to you, and we do not have quantity limits on most items. If there is a quantity limit on a particular item, it will be noted within the relevant product listing; such limits are per household and per sale event.

Meet Coseytown Kay! With her first blooms appearing 8.5-9.5 weeks after field tuber planting - and continued heavy blooming throughout the season - this plant is going to make many cut flower growers a very profitable season! Blooms sit upright on the stem making this a great cut flower for bunching. You can even harvest from Coseytown Kay when the blooms are beginning to open and they will continue to bloom in the cooler.

Please note that this flower NEEDS SUNSHINE to create its pink blush color, so when picked early it will continue to open white in the cooler - which is a great thing when you are short on whites! Extended rainy days will also produce a mostly white bloom.

LeeAnn's Hybridizer Notes
CT™ Kay makes some of the best tubers in size, shape, and storability. Plus it's generous on eyes, so make sure to save all the tubers when dividing, and they could very well be hiding a latent eye that will pop up later in the spring.

Once the daylight hours shorten to below 11.5 hrs per day (i.e. late in the season) there is a tendency to bloom open, but only after running a marathon from July through September!
